| What Services Do We Provide? Criminal Law - Adult. The Saskatchewan Legal Aid Commission provides legal services for adults for criminal law offences which would likely result in jail time or where the accused person may lose a job if found guilty.
Examples include:
- assaults
- thefts
- break and enters
- frauds
- impaired driving causing bodily harm
- homicide
Criminal Law - Youth. As of April 7, 2008 The Saskatchewan Legal Aid Commission provides legal services for all youths charged with a criminal offence.
Family Law. The Saskatchewan Legal Aid Commission provides legal services for family law matters including:

Duty Counsel/In Custody Services. The Saskatchewan Legal Aid Commission provides immediate (although temporary) legal advice by telephone, to any accused person who is arrested or detained, whether or not that person is eligible for further legal services. As of December, 2004 this service is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to those who have been arrested. This service is also referred to "Brydges" advice per the Supreme Court of Canada decision R. v. Brydges.
Legal Advice. The Saskatchewan Legal Aid Commission's staff may provide summary advice, information, or any other type of minimal legal service to anyone if it involves no more than a brief discussion or phone call.
If a staff member provides summary advice, it will only be provided in the areas of law that Legal Aid in Saskatchewan practices - criminal law or family law.
