Staff Lawyer Appointed to the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan

August 14, 2026

Legal Aid Saskatchewan is pleased to congratulate Suzanne Lalonde, a long-serving Staff Lawyer in our Moose Jaw Area Office, on her appointment to the Provincial Court of Saskatchewan.

Judge Lalonde has built a distinguished legal career grounded in advocacy, service, mentorship and leadership. After earning her law degree from the University of Saskatchewan in 2000, she joined Legal Aid Saskatchewan in 2008 and became a dedicated criminal defence lawyer, advocating for people facing some of life’s most difficult circumstances. She was appointed King’s Counsel in 2023.

Her work with Moose Jaw Drug Treatment Court has been particularly meaningful. She supported many clients through the program and took great pride in seeing them graduate.

Judge Lalonde has also been a generous mentor to students and younger lawyers. Her guidance inspired students to pursue careers with Legal Aid Saskatchewan, while her leadership helped strengthen our organization and the services we provide to our clients.

Her commitment to the legal profession and broader community extends well beyond her practice. As a Bencher of the Law Society of Saskatchewan, including serving as Vice-President, President and Past-President, she earned the respect of her colleagues through her leadership and dedication. Her contributions to Pro Bono Law Saskatchewan and the John Howard Society further reflect her commitment to service.

We are grateful for Judge Lalonde’s many years of dedication to Legal Aid Saskatchewan and to the people we serve. We are proud to see her begin this next chapter in her legal career!
