Legal Aid Saskatchewan can help with some immigration and refugee legal matters if you have a low income and qualify for legal aid.
Starting on September 14, 2026, we can help if you are a refugee claimant and need assistance with:
- a Basis of Claim (BOC) form
- a refugee hearing
- a humanitarian and compassionate application
- a pre-removal risk assessment application
Starting in January 2027, we will also be able to help with:
- refugee appeals
- judicial reviews
- detention review hearings
- removal order appeals
- stay of removal applications
We cannot help with:
- family sponsorship
- permanent residence applications
- work, study or visitor permit renewals
- checking your immigration application status
- housing or health issues
